On 11 November 2021, the Compact & Forum was delighted to participate in the World Bank’s Law, Justice and Development Week 2021 by hosting a roundtable discussion titled “Achieving Racial Equality within the Judiciary.” The session was organized and moderated by one of our members, the Paris Bar Association.
The discussion focused on how lawyers can fight racial discrimination in the judiciary and considered perspectives from speakers working in international development, law societies, academia, and the judiciary. The session also highlighted the role that the Compact & Forum can play to promote racial equity and the Paris Bar’s upcoming Working Group on Access to the Law and Justice.
The conversation featured the following speakers:

- I. Stephanie Boyce –President of The Law Society of England and Wales
- Iris Yassmin Barrios Aguilar– Judge of Guatemala’s High Risk Court Tribunal
